What is Thomas Aulfick PLLC?

Peace of Mind through Greater Consciousness

How can you be better and evolve to higher states of being? If you want to understand your suffering and move toward higher functioning, you need to put effort into examining your reality, touch what ails you and lean into the work that will start your ascension.

An unexamined life keeps us trapped and oppressed by our suffering. Peace of mind is an elusive concoction of ingredients that involve our movements, thoughts, feelings, relationships and work.

Thomas Auflick PLLC is an evolution in progress that is helping me find my own peace of mind through a practice of greater consciousness. All of the services I offer are an extension of my own individual development. I look forward to working with you to help you find peace of mind through our collaborative greater consciousness.

Individual Therapy

I think it is important to reconceptualize the idea of therapy. For years, I resisted therapy because I did not want to define myself as Broken. Okay, how about saying, “I am going to therapy because I want to be Better.”

Couples Counseling

I often say to my couple’s clients, “It’s hard enough to understand the Self and your individual life, but then, you went and decided to bring someone into your inner circle.” Relationships can be challenging because individual life can be challenging, but your relationships can help you evolve and create a more fulfilling life. My work as a Certified Gottman Therapist has helped me find the greatest satisfaction in my relationships.

Group Therapy

This form of therapy is underutilized and underrated. My work in group therapy has transformed and moved me to greater levels of admiration, respect and honor for people. The power of a group of people who wish to evolve and help others to evolve is a powerful and meaningful way to heal. Now, more than ever, we need to find ways of connecting to our world and others because our existence is based upon our interdependence. Something amazing happens when you share your truth with caring individuals and listen empathetically to others. In Group Therapy you can find healing and be a part of the vehicle for helping others heal.

Focusing

Developed by an amazing therapist and philosopher, Eugene Gendlin, this technique was captured and identified through years of research into what makes therapy work. I use Focusing weekly in my life to unpack the unconscious baggage that needs tending. This technique has spawned the revolution of somatic experiencing that has paved new pathways into healing Trauma. Here is a quick way to tap into the greater expanse of You. Give this process a try and skip the complications of traditional mental health therapy.

Meditating by the lake

SOMA Breath

I started meditating to try and help manage my anxiety. The simple practice of mindful meditation brought great relief to my suffering, but exploring and experimenting with breath work was a game changer. SOMA Breath transformed me in a short amount of time to tame the beast of my Anxiety. There is real science behind the techniques of SOMA and the results are incredible. Through SOMA Breathwork, many people are finding their own inner elixir to healing mental, physical and spiritual problems.

MORE ABOUT ME PERSONALLY

I am a father, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.

I was born in Lakewood, California (1966), grew up in Reno, Nevada (1970) and spread my independent wings in Seattle, Washington (1987 – Present).

Three amazing women raised me: my mother, aunt and grandmother, all from the maternal side of the family. I grew up as an only child without a father.

I am passionate about self development because there is so much to discover, experience, feel, relate, and know. Time has given me the wisdom to desire more and appreciate the precious gifts this life has given me.

I like to engage with the natural world and love riding my bike.

I like to cook and eat. At the heart of these matters is sharing and experiencing life with friends and relatives.

The road to where I am now has always been about work. I was not gifted to know at an early age what I was supposed to be when I grew up. My working-class background put me to work at the age of nine, and I never stopped.

My experience in life has given me the opportunity to sit with a diverse range of individuals from all socioeconomic classes and cultural backgrounds. I am blessed by the strength of my diverse family, friends and community from all corners of the planet.
