About Thomas Auflick PLLC

Peace of Mind through Greater Consciousness

These words speak to my journey of healing. In essence, I found my healing and ‘Peace’ when I began my psychological journey through the process of talk therapy.

We find Peace of Mind through Greater Consciousness in the examined life. Here, we make meaning, give definition, and create understanding. The more we know about ourselves, the greater the sense of ease to find Our Way. We perceive through the sensual perception in body to define an outer physical reality. Beyond the body, within and without, a greater perception can be perceived. Exploring my perception of awareness and greater consciousness through the outer and inner exploration leads me to find my strengths that help me evolve. In the presence of a trained therapist, I have found Peace of Mind.

I offer the following services to help people on their healing journey:

Individual Therapy

I prefer to conceive of this process in a positive light. You are not Broken: “I am going to therapy because I want to be Better.” Discover a pathway to being your best self. Find your way to achieve goals related to health and well-being. “I have a healthy relationship with my Self, and the people in my world.”

Couples Counseling

My work as a Certified Gottman Therapist has helped me find the greatest satisfaction in all of my relationships. This work taught me how to listen and communicate on the highest level. Health research points to people being physically and mentally healthier as well as living longer when in long term committed relationships.

Group Therapy

This form of therapy is underutilized and underrated. The power of group therapy comes from the people who care to help themselves and witness that in others like them. Something amazing happens when you share your truth with the world and you find support from another who is like you. Group therapy empowers people to help others through the presence of witnessing.

Focusing

My theoretical heart for counseling lands strongly in the frame of Focusing. As a Certified Focusing Oriented Therapist, I bring a somatic process that is born in research that points toward profound shifts in healing and greater sense of knowing your truth. This process accelerated my discovery of Peace of Mind through Greater Consciousness.

SOMA Breath

I started meditating years ago to try and get a hold of my anxiety. Meditation is a powerful tool. Combining intentional breath in meditation lead me to discover Pranayama through SOMA Breath. This tool helped me tame my anxiety. I am not just a subjective positive story. Real science points to healing through the techniques of breathwork. SOMA Breath can create an inner elixir to healing many mental and physical problems.
